There are many things to see in both Maryland and Virginia that are important and entertaining that the book skips. It's spread way too thin. The things that are included in the book are the same on-the-beaten-track places you probably already know. The result is that the book is uninspiring and feels inauthentic. It feels more like a list of well-known sites than a sincere travel book.This book will only be helpful for people who know very little about this profoundly important and interesting part of the country.
